As an over thinker, I research art and meaning, so its storytime...Japan, Korea and China apparently all have their own reasons why the their dragon is the OG and why other eastern dragons have a different amount of claws.

Korea says their dragon has 4 claws and when it leaves west or south it grows a claw and when it goes East or North it loses a claw. China says the OG originated from them with four or five claws (five clawed dragons were imperial dragon and only used for the Emperor and four clawed for the regular degular folks), like some sort of mall Santa, he's not him, but he works for him. And as the dragon travelled further away from home, they began to lose their claws. And Japan says they got the original recipe, that Dragons come from them, and that the further they went, the more claws grew.

So as an ABC you're getting the dragon fit for an emperor--that 5 claw royalty.
